Event Details:

Enjoy a scenic float that will take you under the longest and highest double-track railway bridge in the world with trains passing 185 feet overhead approx. every 15 minutes. Consider this trip if you have never been on a canoe float, you have no more than 4 hours to be on the water, you like to get out at most all the sandbars to play and explore, you are bringing small children or you are in a very large group.

Complimentary transportation departs from Seven Oaks for Canoe/Kayak Trip #1 at 11:00. Check in a minimum of 30 minutes before your transportation departure time. .

Float times are subject to river flow, wind and paddling time. Seven Oaks reserves the right to alter trips based on boat ramp conditions, water levels and wind conditions.

Please wear sandals or shoes on your river float. Most of the river bottom is sand, but there are rocky sections where you will need something on your feet.

Arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled float time so you can stop in the ticket office to get signed in. We’ll leave the parking lot at your scheduled launch time.

You’ll be taken to the river by a Seven Oaks bus or van. We’ll explain your trip to you and answer any questions you might have. We do not float with you on your trip. You may be taken to the river with others but that doesn’t mean you need to float with them or even finish at the same time as them.
We list approximate times that the float may take you but you are welcome to stay out on the river until the “off the river time” which is 4 pm Monday through Friday, and 6 pm Saturdays and Sundays.
We’ll be at the take-out boat ramp to pick you up and take you back to your vehicle at Seven Oaks.

Seven Oaks invites you to experience the beauty of the scenic Des Moines river valley. On a quiet afternoon you will see animals on the river banks, birds flying overhead, wild flowers growing in the wooded bluffs and a bald eagles nest just past the Kate Shelly High Bridge.

I will be canceling the extra canoes that are reserved at the first part of July.

If they want one person to pay for it all then everyone can just pay me.

It will be 50.00 plus tax,
